INDICATIONS FOR USE

Chickens: Treatment of infections caused by E. coli sensitive to florfenicol.
Pigs: Treatment and metaphylaxis of swine respiratory disease associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida susceptible to florfenicol.
The presence of the disease in the herd should be established before initiating metaphylaxis.

POSOLOGY AND ADMINISTRATION VIA

Chickens: The daily dose of fl orfenicol for the chickens till the age of four weeks is 20 mg / kg b.w., it equals 50 ml per 100 litre of drinking water. For chickens older than four weeks the dose equals 100 ml per 100 litre of drinking water. The duration of treatment: 5 days.
Pigs: The recommended dose is 10 mg fl orfenicol per kg b.w., daily (corresponding to 5 ml of the product / 100 kg b.w.) given for 5 consecutive days.
The uptake of medicated water depends on the clinical situation of the animal and the time of the year. To ensure correct dosage, the concentration of fl orfenicol in the water should be adjusted taking into account the daily uptake. In case of insuffi cient water intake, administer an alternative parenteral treatment. Medicated drinking water should be renewed every 24 hours.
Based on the recommended dose, and the number and weight of the animals to be treated, the exact daily amount of the veterinary product should be calculated according to the following formula:
X ml product per litre drinking water = X ml product per kg b.w. per day x mean body weight (kg) of animals to be treated / mean daily water intake (litre) per animal

Chickens: Meat: 8 days
Not authorized for use in laying hens whose eggs are used for human consumption.
Pigs: Meat: 23 days
